Call

The links between art, science and technology are, for a long time, themes and ideals of several prospective actions, as if indicating a path or solution for a contemporary identity. While theme or approach, the trials coincide with a moment of training review, professional profiles and tensions between the classifications of knowledge areas across social demands. In one way or another, such articulations lead the exploratory processes that aim at innovation, with quite severe results in a social, economic and cultural perspective.

It is in this context that the Media Lab / UFG opens its call for the Artistic and Scientific Residencies Program, focusing on innovation in interactive media and collaborative methodology in art and science. For this, the Residency Program will select two double composed by an artist and a scientist to carry out two editions of the program, being the first nationwide and the second international.

In this second stage, the call is open to scientists who do not have Brazilian citizenship and do not reside in Brazil, whose researches and/or acting field focus or are related to the field of wearable computing. The scientist, together with the artist selected on the first stage, will collaboratively develop the proposed artistic project, in line with his scientific research field, in his stay of three weeks - November 07th to 26th, 2016 - in the area of Media Lab/UFG.

Throughout this period the pair will have the monitoring of the Media Lab/UFG team for the refinement and implementation of the proposal, which will be in a collaborative manner. In addition to the project development, there will be a public seminar in the last week of the residence, in which the double will share the concepts and methodologies experienced. At the end of the residence, the results will compose an exhibition.
